Microstructural Evaluation of Thermal-Sprayed CoCrFeMnNi0.8V High-Entropy Alloy Coatings

The aim of this work is to improve the understanding effect cooling rate on microstructure high-entropy alloys, with a focus alloy coatings, by using combined computational and experimental validation approach. CoCrFeMnNi0.8V coatings were deposited steel substrate high velocity oxy-air-fuel spray employment three different deposition temperatures. microstructures studied compared equivalent bulk fabricated suction casting powder gas atomization. According results, low medium temperatures consisted BCC microstructure. On other hand, coating temperature was more complex, consisting phases, including BCC, FCC oxides. phase constitution included an sigma. This variation in microstructural outcome assessed terms solidification rate, results Thermo-Calc modelling. can be tuned rapid techniques such as atomization, well subsequent processing use parameters, leading variety outcomes. approach interest for field coatings.
